Soergel's Landscapes, Aquascapes, Hardscapes and Florascapes — Your Escape

Imagine sitting by a fire, listening to waterfalls, streams, and birds. You smell the roses, and stroll to the garden bench across the pond from the multiple falls. Explore, climb the stone steps and cross the footbridge to the porch overhanging the falls. Sit around a crackling campfire in the maple woods. Lounge on the intimate Adirondack benches and rest your feet on the boulder as the stream flows by. Let your cares flow away, let peace and serenity wash over you. This doesn't have to be a dream.
Many of our gardens feature all of the basic needs for human survival: water, fire, food, shelter, and human company. Water in the garden may be a peaceful pond with tropical water lilies and playful fish, a roaring waterfall and mountain stream, a formal reflecting pool with fountains and sculptures, or a combination thereof. Fire in the garden may be a campfire ring, a fireplace with hearth and mantel, or torches, candles, and fire bowls strategically placed for warmth, light, and reflection. Food in the garden, the most basic human need, may be a full outdoor gourmet kitchen with grill, pizza oven, bar, serving and dining areas, and most importantly gathering spaces. Or it may be a cozy dining and lounging patio by the fireplace. Shelter in the garden may be the privacy and canopy of trees, an arbor or pergola, a gazebo, tiki hut, tea house, play house, covered porch, or the stars and moon. We like to blend and mix these building blocks in our designs to create places for people to enjoy with focal points, backgrounds, foregrounds, and privacy just as an artist would create a painting. From every angle and vantage point the art changes. The masterpiece also changes throughout the day and through the seasons. |
